HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY! (Feb. 2)

Groundhog Day is an American tradition. Every year on February 2nd at Gobbler’s Knob in Pennsylvania, tradition holds that when a groundhog emerges from its burrow he can predict the weather. The official groundhog is Punxsatawney Phil. This year, he did not see his shadow, so we can expect an early start to spring.

As a  Principled Academy community, we takerecycling seriously.  Beginning January 1, 2013, a new Alameda County law states that recycling for businesses is mandatory. Until, we get our outside areas set up for recycling, we are asking that students put recyclable items back in the lunchboxes. In Jan. 2014, we will also be required to compost all green waste and food items, so we are working to set that up as well. We encourage the use of reusable containers and no trash lunches.
Please let us know if you have a good source for sturdy outside recycle and compost bins.
